TAT CULT FEST 2019
Tat Cult Fest will include two visual-art zones in the Kazan Kremlin.
One zone will present installations from the Prometheus Research Institute, recently returned from exhibitions in France. The other will be an outdoor gallery.
The outdoor gallery in the Kazan Kremlin’s Bishops’ Courtyard will show work by young artists from Kazan’s underground scene, centred on urban myths and legends.
“The programme includes painting, installations, objects and video art,” said festival organiser Adel Takze.
A separate media-art zone will focus on the Prometheus Centre, formerly the Prometheus Research Institute. Since the 1960s, the Kazan collective has developed audiovisual technologies at KNRTU-KAI. Works returning from exhibitions in France will be shown on the third floor of the Hermitage-Kazan Centre.
“The display will include the institute’s objects, documentary material and library, as well as work by a younger generation influenced by Prometheus,” said Adel Takze.
The Watch Me Visuals collective will also present an installation projected onto an electronic stage.
