The “Bulat Galeev–Prometheus” Foundation for the Support of Audiovisual and Technological Art was founded in 2019. It is a non-profit organization that preserves Kazan’s multimedia art heritage. We collect, organise and share the archives of Prometheus, the Student Engineering Bureau and Research Institute. Since the early 1960s, this group has explored how art, light, music and synaesthesia come together.

We are able to do this work thanks to grants and support from partner institutions. This support lets us keep preserving and developing this heritage. Through research, exhibitions and public programmes, we tell the story of a pioneering Kazan collective – a group where artists and engineers worked side by side on technological and audiovisual art. Every idea and every experiment they made was innovative for its time.
